Website Scam Alert!
Please be aware that there is an on-going scam affecting this website and others in the Church of Scotland. A fake website supposedly connected to our church is asking for donations and promoting a fundraising lottery. The Church of Scotland have issued the following statement.
SCAM ALERT
The Church of Scotland Law Dept. has been made aware of fake websites which are promoting a Church of Scotland fundraising lottery – both at a national level and also purporting to be individual churches.
These websites look very professional but are nothing to do with the Church of Scotland. A key indicator is that the web address being used misspells Scotland with two ‘c’s.
Staff at the National Offices have reported this to the appropriate authorities as a matter of urgency.
If any members have concerns about these fake websites, they can contact the Law Department via email on LAWDEPT@churchofscotland.org.uk.
If you see a website at https://eastkilbride-westkirk.org.uk this is not affiliated with our church and please make sure to not take part in the lottery promoted on this fake website.
FOR THE AVOIDANCE OF DOUBT, THE CHURCH OF SCOTLAND DOES NOT RUN A FUNDRAISING LOTTERY.
